'Remember The Game?' is a retro gaming podcast, hosted by comedian Adam Blank.
Each week, Adam and his guest get together and spend some time reminiscing about a video game from the good old days. No history lessons here, just two nerds remembering a game they played before the weight of adulthood crushed their spirits.

Episode #15 - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening North American Release Date - August 1993
The Legend of Zelda is one of the most iconic franchises in gaming history. When you talk about the greatest games in the NES and SNES library, you can't help but mention the Zelda games. I feel like Link's foray into the handheld universe gets overlooked sometimes, though. So this week, we're going to dive into the world of AA batteries, puke green screens, and playing video games on the toilet. Of course we're talking Game Boy. And more specifically, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
This game reportedly began as a port of the SNES classic Link To The Past, but obviously ended up becoming something else entirely. Remarkably, Link's Awakening can hold it's own against most of the heavy hitters in the Zelda series, at least in the 2D universe. The graphics are sharp, the game plays fantastic, it has a unique story, and a fascinating (and huge, for the time) world to explore. And it does it all on the go.
Nintendo deserves a lot of credit for making a game this good run that well on a console like the Game Boy. Link's Awakening is a technical marvel, and while gamers today might take one look at the green colour scheme and dismiss it, anyone that grew up playing this game on long road trips knows what a life saver it was. To this day, I like it more than several of the newer Legend of Zelda games.
My pal Mark is the biggest Zelda junkie I know, and we had a great time looking back on our childhood quests to wake the Wind Fish. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I do. Maybe Link's Awakening can help you get through one more long drive...
